Strong Wood Floors

Strong Wood Floors was born in 2011 as a wood floor manufacturer. Through the know - how acquired over many years of experience in the timber sector, the Strong project born with strong links and partnerships in the operation and marketing of wood in Póvoa de Varzim, northern Portugal.

Quality is the operating philosophy of Strong. It is supported by a careful selection of raw materials, a specialized and motivated team in each sector, and strongly invests in Research, Development & Innovation (RD & I) of new products. All this, combined with the most advanced technology, is the guarantee of a complete and distinct range of products, prepared to respond to any aesthetic or functional requirement.

With a strong social and environmental responsibility, uses certified wood in its manufacturing process, comply with all applicable environmental laws, regulations and standards policy, respecting the principles of economic and social development, always knowing the provenance of the raw materials integrate their products.

Commitment to Chain of Custody Values

Strong Wood Floors is deeply committed to the implementation and maintenance of the chain of responsibility requirements and complies with, applies, and promotes:

  • • Applicable legislation from the perspective of rights and obligations regarding fundamental labor requirements;
  • • Compliance with hygiene and workplace safety requirements;
  • • Non-use of child labor;
  • • Elimination of all forms of forced or compulsory labor;
  • • Ensuring there is no discrimination in terms of employment/occupation;
  • • The organization must respect trade union freedom and the effective right of workers to collective bargaining.

Supply policy, endorsed by the highest level of company management, through which it commits not to do so and to make its best efforts to avoid trading and supplying wood or wood fiber (hereinafter referred to as wood) from the following categories:

  • a) Wood illegally harvested;
  • b) Wood harvested in violation of traditional and civil rights;
  • c) Wood harvested in forests where high conservation values are threatened by management activities;
  • d) Wood harvested in forests being converted to plantations or for non-forest land uses;
  • e) Wood from forests where genetically modified trees have been planted;
  • f) Violation of any of the ILO Core Conventions as defined in the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, 1998.
