Ipe

The Ipe is one of the species of the genus Tabebuia, belonging to the botanical Bignoniaceae, which means "re tree-thick shell." The Ipe tree is high and can reach 30 m in height. Besides being highly appreciated for the quality of its wood is used for ornamental and decorative pur-poses. It is a tree originating ria cerrado, does not need much water, it's quite leafy and during flowering completely loses its leaves to make room for flowers of various colors, which are at the origin of the different names of Ipe wood. It blooms from July to September and fruits from September to October.
