Large tree, reaching 25 to 35 meters high, is common in the forests and not used in urban land-scaping. When old, his loose trunk bark in disc form leaving him with a peculiar aspect. At flowering, the tree is all white and then is covered with honey-colored new leaves giving his name. The flowers are white, small and in clusters and the tree blooms only when the leaves fall.
